Contact Improvisation Beginners mit Lena

What I like about CI is the variety of possibilities - dances can be deep and calm, light, slow, playful and everything in between. People with very different previous experiences can practice CI together.

Even though it is an improvised dance form, there are still basics that we can learn and practice to make our dances freer and safer.

This summer weekend we will explore some of these basics of contact improvisation. We will learn skills (such as rolling, falling, releasing and picking up weight) as well as training our perception. We will dance dances with and without contact, with the floor, in solos, duos or trios.
Questions that we (can) ask ourselves here include:
What happens when we lose weight?
What is the “rolling point”?
How can we cultivate attentive (body) contact?
How do I lose weight?
How can I work with gravity and not against it?
Through playful exercises we will approach the dance encounter, always with a keen sense of listening both internally and externally.
